And now...

later, seedlings up, originally uploaded by Margo and George.

...and now the seedlings are up.
peas,
nasturtium

carrots (ok, they're not up just yet, but imminently)
arugula, spinach, lettuce, and mesclun greens
beets
cilantro

I put some scrap fencing loosely over the top to discourage the local robins from landing in there and eating the seeds before they'd had a chance to germinate properly.

I won't tell you what's in my garden, but I certainly wish I had some of this that you have there to keep neighborhood cats at bay. Rascals.

Hooray for baby plants! One of my fondest pleasures is to watch them come up.

Though, the first few days or weeks back at the community garden can feel overwhelming- there's so much work to do.

Hi Katie, yes, scavenging some spare fencing material works wonders. It really is scrap metal fencing, if that helps any. So far, so good...and good luck!

Hi Ilex! Yes, I'm so psyched to see the little greenies pop up - it's been a strange spring out here. One minute it's unseasonably 90+ degrees (!!!) and the next we're back in the upper 30s... I'm just grateful that so far my little plants have endured the vagaries of the climate.
