That loon is so lovely. I go camping every year with the Up North Orienteers. I used to set the controls of the canoe race, but after nine years of doing the canoe-O, we gave it up. I would set some of the controls at 6am in the morning and the loons would be out calling. I so love the call of the loon on a peaceful lake.
It's funny you say that, because it was only last year, after many years interval, that I finally heard the loon's call again. I hadn't heard it since I was a kid (and then it was their wild, funny call, not their mournful long-note call.) I'm glad to see and hear them again.
Controls? Canoe-O? I think I'm missing a few references there, sorry. :/
I work. I write. I eat. I garden. I travel. I hike, camp and take photos. I watch a few movies and read far more books, and try to keep up on my email correspondence. I need a 36-hour day.
